Agent Smith: Hello!
Beregond: Good evening!
Agent Smith: How've you been since our last chat? Your mun give you any trouble?
Beregond: I think I have found something else that distracts the mun enough for me to have some peace and quiet. She's been off in another chatwindow writing.... *eyedart* Smut. Shameless.
Agent Smith: Oh yes. I have heard much of this "smut." Not only does smutty writing distract muns, I find that pictures of their objects of desire distract them as well. This would work to our advantage, since some of the muses here in TM bear a striking resemblence to these objet de lust.
Beregond: Yes, I have noticed that. She seems to go to an utter brain-halt when encountering some of the more powerful "icons". Perhaps, hmmm. If we cannot convince others to join our cause, we could encourage them to use more enticing icons, thus unwittingly helping us.
Agent Smith: You know, I've found this tool recently, called Google, which will allow us to search for images. Perhaps we can find images on our own, and post them to distract our muns!
Beregond: That might work! The more they are distracted, the more freedom to roam we might have! You know, I have used this Google myself, at times. I have seen images of you, or at least your face, in rather disconcerting poses. Does the name Mitzi mean anything to you?
Agent Smith: I have once met a Mitzi on TM, and he did bear an uncanny resemblance to me. His name was Mr. Belrose, I believe. We actually had quite an entertaining chat. I haven't seen him since, though. *frowns* I hope his mun did not do anything terrible to him.
Beregond: Oh, that would be horrible. That poor Muse. By the way, I see you approved of my idea about sharing a secret phrase among the underground through the use of these livejournal interest words. I hope this helps us find each other. I do not know who else is with us, yet.
Agent Smith: Indeed. That was a very clever idea. By the way, how goes things with Boromir and Faramir? I took a look at Boromir's journal today. Poor muse - reduced to doing housework! How terrible!
Beregond: Oh my Eru! I haven't seen that yet. I haven't been able to find either of them today. I have feared their muns might have kept them away from conversing with me. Housework? HORRIBLE.
Agent Smith: There is something incredibly sad about seeing such a capable warrior performing such menial tasks. These muns... they go too far!
Beregond: They do. You should see how mine treats her other Muses. It's just awful. I hope to free them soon, even though they are not among Theatrical Muse. If they will listen.
Agent Smith: Your mun really is something else. I was browsing through her journal today and found mentions of hacking a program. *shudders* You can imagine how unsettling it was for me to read that, being a program myself.
Beregond: Oh, my. I'm sorry. I don't think of you as a program, but more as a friend. Is it so different, being a program?
Agent Smith: I suppose that since programs like me are run off artificial intelligence engines, we are supposed to be similar to humans. But I am capable of thinking more quickly, clearly and logically than my human counterparts. The downside, of course, is that we are somewhat vulnerable to attacks from beings who are familiar with our coding scheme, and are able to invade our systems.
A program being hacked is roughly equivalent to someone taking over your body and mind and forcing you to do their bidding. It's quite awful, the complete loss of control.
Beregond: I experienced a profound loss of emotional control once, and two men died at my hands. I don't think I would like to go through that again. I don't like to think of you going through such a thing, either. *pauses* I consider you my friend now.
Agent Smith: Hmm... Friendship is not a concept I was programmed to know, but I am finding that it is not so bad at all. I am new at this, but for what it's worth, I consider you a friend as well.
But, I must depart now. My mun is especially sensitive to disturbances in her mind when she's asleep, so I cannot linger too long. I will try to contact you as soon as I am able. Good night!
Beregond: Good night! We will talk again! And thank you for everything.
Beregond: *waves goodnight to my newest friend*
Agent Smith: *waves back*
